Washing machine owners should decide to hire a repairman or to conduct the GE washer repair on their own.
It’s the weekend. And it’s that time of the day that laundry needs to be done. How did that happen? Well, for most people, it’s time to do their laundry when the top or t-shirt that they are wearing don’t match the pair of jeans at all. So they decide to get their hampers and start to separate the colored clothes from the white ones and then placed them all in the washer with some detergent and a certain amount of water. They hit the start button of the washer but nothing happen. As in, the GE washer isn’t working at all.
GE washers are among the most famous and most trusted brands when it comes to washing machines. These washing machines are considered the most important invention during the industrial revolution since they make it easier to take care of clothes. And when they break down, life gets a little bit harder. No one would want to do their own laundry by the hands. And no one would want to drag their laundry to the nearest laundry shop. A GE washer repair must be done. Washing machine owners should decide to hire a repairman or to conduct the GE washer repair on their own.
One problem of GE washer is that there are times that it wouldn’t spin at all. So to successfully conduct a GE washer repair with this problem, an individual would need the following things: a two-inch putty knife, a Torx screw driver, a nut driver, a small volt meter, some vice grips or pliers, and plenty of rags.
Here is step-by-step track on how to successfully carry out a GE washer repair. The first step is to unplug the power cord and to remove the hose drain. It is also advisable to bring the washer to a place where it would be easy to work from. The washer not spinning is usually because the lid is currently down when it should be up so check the lid switch. Then search for the clips that hold the front of the washer and once found insert a putty knife in it and press the clips for release. After removing the panel, find the location of the lid switch. And then remove the panel which contains the washing machine timer and other controls. Then search for the wires that are in the lid switch and disconnect them. Attach the wires to a volt meter that will measure the resistance and if the measure doesn’t change, it means that the switch is faulty. The main thing to do is to replace the lid switch and the washer will surely function like normal.
Sometimes a GE washer repair that needs to be performed depends on the water level inside the washer. If the washer’s water level switch is in a bad condition, the washer wouldn’t spin because it assumes that there is still water in the tub. At this point, the water level switch is the problem and it needs to be replaced for the washing machine to become fully functional again.
